6 .25 <br /> 6 .25 CONSECUTIVE VACATION DAYS . If the employee is <br /> entitled to two weeks vacation he must take one week consecutively, <br /> if an employee is entitled to three or four weeks he must take two <br /> weeks consecutively. <br /> 6 .26 SICK LEAVE. <br /> Subdivision 1. Eligibility. Sick leave with pay shall <br /> be granted to all probationary and regular full-time employees at <br /> the rate of one work day for each calendar month of full time <br /> service or major fraction thereof, except that sick leave granted <br /> probationary employees shall not be available for use until <br /> satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period. <br /> Promotional probationary employees may make use of sick leave; <br /> however, if the sick leave exceeds a total of five working days, <br /> the probationary period shall automatically be extended a like <br /> period of time. Sick leave will accrue to regular part-time <br /> employees on a prorata basis. <br /> Subdivision 2 . Accrual and Use. Sick leave may be <br /> accumulated to a maximum of 120 days. Sick leave may be granted <br /> only for absence from duty because of personal illness or <br /> disability, legal quarantine, or death or serious illness in the <br /> • <br /> immediate family. <br /> Subdivision 3 . Proof Required. In order to be eligible <br /> for sick leave with pay, an employee must: <br /> ( 1) Report promptly to his Department Head the reason <br /> for his absence. <br /> (2) Keep his Department Head informed on a weekly basis <br /> of his condition, if the absence is more than three days duration. <br /> ( 3) Submit a medical certificate for any absence <br /> exceeding three days if required by the Clerk-Administrator. <br /> (4) Penalty. Claiming sick leave when physically fit, <br /> except as permitted in this section may be cause for disciplinary <br /> action, including transfer, suspension, demotion or dismissal. <br /> (5) An employee who meets the other requirements of this <br /> section and who receives workers ' compensation payments shall be <br /> granted accrued sick leave pay in the amount of the difference <br /> between his workers ' compensation payments and his salary. <br /> (6) Severance pay. Severance pay shall be granted in <br /> the amount of 50 percent of unused sick leave to employees who have <br /> 0 completed ten years of service. Upon death of the employee, the <br /> beneficiary of the employee shall be paid the benefit. <br />
