Mounds View Planning Commission June. 4, 1986 <br /> Regular Meeting Page Three <br /> survey of the property, and the Planning Commission <br /> Ilk ould <br /> be more than willing to look at the findings of <br /> reputable firm of a land survey. <br /> Director Thatcher explained there can be a 1-2' deviation <br /> in the findings of an aerial survey. <br /> Chairman Mountin stated the Planning Commission could <br /> approve the proposed resolution at this time, deny it, <br /> or the applicant could appeal Staff' s findings at this <br /> time. <br /> Director Thatcher stated Mr. Grone could hire an <br /> engineer and provide proof to the City that there is a <br /> positive outlet on the property. <br /> Mr. Grone stated his objection is purely a financial one, <br /> as he does not want to spend $2,000 - $3,000 on putting <br /> in a positive outlet, and he does not feel one is required. <br /> Commissioner Zollner asked Mr. Grone to remember that <br /> conditions would change once new homes are built on the <br /> property. <br /> Mr. and Mrs. Grone both stated there is no standing <br /> water on the property and there has not been any. They <br /> Illstated they believe this is being required of them <br /> ecause of a significant drainage problem to the east <br /> of them. <br /> Director Thatcher noted this same requirement has been <br /> made to other subdivisions which have come before the <br /> Planning Commission. <br /> Mrs. Grone stated that they want to subdivide at this <br /> time but do not plan on building on the lots now. <br /> Director Thatcher replied the problem must be addressed <br /> at the time of subdivision. <br /> Commissioner Forslund added that all subdivisions must <br /> meet the requirements of Chapters 40 , 48 and 49 . <br /> Chairman Mountin stated she would be agreeable to tabling <br /> this item until the Grone' s have had an opportunity to <br /> explore their rights and what is required. <br /> Mrs. Grone stated she does not feel that Staff is doing <br /> their job. <br /> After considerable discussion, it was the concensus of <br /> he Planning Commission to approve the resolution, with <br /> he stipulations as set forth. <br /> Mrs. Grone made reference to a letter from Staff dated <br /> May 16, and stated she did not like the. word.ing and use <br /> of the word "pond" . <br />
