110 (h) Building sign substitution. A ground sign may be substituted for <br /> all permitted building signs when all of the following conditions <br /> are met: <br /> (1) The lot must be in a limited business zone ("LB") or be a <br /> limited business use in a planned development zone. <br /> (2) The lot must be a through lot with double street frontage, but <br /> may not be a corner lot. <br /> (3) The building's architecture must be of a style or character <br /> which does not lend itself to the use of a building sign. <br /> (4) Any existing building signs must be removed and no otherwise <br /> permitted building signs shall be erected. <br /> (5) The ground sign must be located on the side of the lot <br /> abutting the minor or interior roadway. <br /> (6) The ground sign must meet the size, height, and setback <br /> requirements for the primary ground sign permitted on the <br /> site. <br /> (7) The ground sign shall be in addition to all other permitted <br /> ground signs. <br /> 411, <br /> Section 6-106. Prohibited signs. <br /> (a) Painting directly on exterior walls; prohibited: Signs shall not <br /> be painted directly on any exterior building surface but shall be on a <br /> separate frame. Signs, letters and symbols may be attached directly to a <br /> wall by adhesive or mechanical means. <br /> (b) Paper signs; prohibited: There shall be no paper cardboard or <br /> similar signs, notices or flyers, pasted, tacked or otherwise affixed to the <br /> (c) Revolving beacons, sequential flashers, and flashing signs are <br /> prohibited: There shall be no use of revolving beacons, sequential flashers <br /> or similar devices. <br /> (d) Portable or movable signs; prohibited: There shall be no use of <br /> a sign so designed as to be movable from one location to another, such as, <br /> but not limited to, readerboards, semi-truck trailer or other device whose <br /> function is to serve as a sign. <br /> (e) Overhanging signs; prohibited: No permanent or temporary signs <br /> shall be upon or overhang the public right-of-way or the boundary of adjacent <br /> property except traffic signs erected by the city, county or state. <br /> • <br /> 17 5-13-93 <br />
