provision of communication towers and utility service facilities <br />within the Town of Jupiter serves the public health, safety and <br />welfare; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Jupiter Town Council desires to clarify and <br />enhance the supplemental zoning regulations regarding communication <br />towers and utility service facilities contained in Chapter 27, <br />Zoning, of the Town Code; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the Town of <br />Jupiter has considered proposed amendments to the Town Code <br />relating to communication towers and utility service facilities, <br />and has transmitted recommendations to approve this Ordinance to <br />the Jupiter Town Council, NOW THEREFORE, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL <br />OF THE TOWN OF JUPITER, FLORIDA: <br />SECTION 1. The following definitions are hereby added to <br />Section 27-1, Definitions, in Article I of Chanter 27, Zoning, in <br />the Code of the Town of Jupiter, Florida: <br />ANTENNA means an arrangement of wires or metal rods used in <br />transmitting or receiving electromagnetic waves. <br />BREAK POINT means the location on a communication tower of a <br />Hasigned feature which, in the event of a tower failure, would <br />result in the tower falling entirely within the boundaries of the <br />property on which it is located. <br />COMMUNICATION TOWER means a guyed, monopole or self-support <br />tower, constructed as a free-standing structure or in association <br />with a building, other permanent structure or equipment, containing <br />one or more antennas intended for transmitting or receiving <br />television, AM/FM radio, digital, microwave, cellular, telephone, <br />or similar forms of electronic communication. <br />EMF means electromagnetic field. <br />GUYED TOWER means a communication tower that is supported, in <br />whole or in part, by guy wires and ground anchors. <br />2 <br />• <br />
