• <br />• <br />MONOPOLE TOWER means a communication tower consisting of a <br />single pole, constructed without guy wires and ground anchors. <br />NIER means nonionizing electromagnetic radiation. <br />SELF-SUPPORT TOWER means a communication tower that is <br />constructed without guy wires and ground anchors. <br />UTILITY SERVICE FACILITIES means elements of utility <br />distribution, collection or transmission networks required by their <br />nature to be relatively dispersed throughout the service area. <br />Typical utility service facilities include, but are not limited to, <br />electrical distribution substations, sewage lift stations, and <br />telephone exchange buildings and structures. <br />100 PERCENT CLEAR ZONE means the requirement that in the event <br />of a tower failure, the entire height of the tower would fall <br />completely within the boundaries of the property on which it is <br />located. <br />SECTION 2. The following Division 31, entitled "Communication <br />Towers," is hereby added to Article X, Supplemental District <br />Regulations, in Chapter 27, Zoning, of the Town Code: <br />DIVISION 31. COMMUNICATION TOWERS <br />Sec. 27-1670. Intent. <br />to: <br />The regulations and requirements of this division are intended <br />(1) provide for the appropriate location and development of <br />communication towers to serve the residents and <br />businesses of the Town of Jupiter; <br />(2) minimize adverse visual effects of towers through careful <br />design, siting, and vegetative screening; <br />(3) avoid potential damage to adjacent properties from tower <br />failure through engineering and careful siting of tower <br />structures; and <br />(4) maximize use of any new or existing communication tower <br />to reduce the number of towers needed. <br />Sec. 27-1671.
