Mounds View City Council December 13, 2004 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />Council Member Stigney asked whether they had time for ordinances, and Ms. Crane stated that 1 <br />they did. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Mayor Linke opened the public hearing. There being no public comment, the public hearing was 4 <br />closed. 5 <br /> 6 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To waive the reading and approve Resolution 6401, 7 <br />Adopting the 2005 Mounds View Fee Schedule. 8 <br /> 9 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 10 <br /> 11 <br />B. Resolution 6402 Adopting the 2005 Property Tax Levy. 12 <br /> 13 <br />City Clerk Ulrich stated the truth in taxation hearing was held, and the hearing was closed on the 14 <br />December 6, 2004 date. He stated the latest it’s recommended that the levy be adopted would be 15 <br />December 20th, and that this was the last scheduled meeting before then. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mayor Linke read the Resolution aloud. 18 <br /> 19 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Linke. To and approve Resolution 6402, Adopting the 2005 20 <br />Property Tax Levy. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Stigney stated that the median home value in Mounds View is $160,000, and 23 <br />his home had increased in value, but the city portion of his taxes has gone up to $185 per year 24 <br />from what it had been previously. He stated he didn’t think they had done enough to try to 25 <br />reduce this levy so he wouldn’t support it. 26 <br /> 27 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 1 (Stigney) Motion carried. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Marty left the meeting. 30 <br /> 31 <br />C. Resolution 6403 Adopting the 2005 Budgets for All Funds. 32 <br /> 33 <br />The Resolution was read aloud by City Clerk Ulrich. 34 <br /> 35 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Gunn. To approve Resolution 6403, Adopting the 2005 Budgets for 36 <br />All Funds. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Stigney reiterated that his taxes had increased $185 per year, which he felt was 39 <br />excessive. 40 <br /> 41 <br /> Ayes – 3 Nays –1 Motion carried. 42 <br /> 43 <br />D. Consideration of a Minor Subdivision at 7656 and 7658 Silver Lake Road. 44 <br /> 45
