Thomas/Flaherty To approve Resolution 6550 Approving an On Sale 10 <br />Intoxicating Liquor License for The Mermaid, located at 2200 Highway 10 and waive the 11 <br />reading. 12 <br /> 13 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 14 <br /> 15 <br />G. Resolution 6564 Approving the Proposed Sale of Land Comprising the 16 <br />Bridges of Mounds Golf Course to Medtronic; and approving the 17 <br />Development Proposal and Terms of the Purchase Agreement and Contract 18 <br />for Private Development. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Economic Development Coordinator Backman stated that this resolution parallels the staff report 21 <br />and resolution reviewed with EDA. He explained that the economic impacts would increase the 22 <br />city tax base, leverages State dollars for roads, adds high paying jobs to the community and 23 <br />involves a major investment, by a premier company, in our community. He stated that given the 24 <br />positive impacts it is recommended that the Mounds View City Council adopt Resolution 6564 25 <br />approving the proposed sale of the land comprised of The Bridges and approve the Medtronic 26 <br />Development proposal. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Mayor Marty referenced page one of the staff report stating that he would like to make note of 29 <br />the last paragraph, second to last line, ‘The term sheet indicated that the Mounds View EDA 30 <br />would seek Special TIF Legislation that would permit 25-year TIF Districts at the site’. He 31 <br />stated that he was not aware that Council had specifically asked to extend the District after the 25 32 <br />years. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Mayor Marty referenced page 51, that ‘The Bridges AUAR authorized by the city reviewed all 35 <br />transportation issues related to the proposed development of the site and stated that the AUAR 36 <br />did not address the transportation issues within the City of Mounds View. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Council Member Thomas clarified that Council did not direct staff to extend to 25-years because 39 <br />25-years was the length of the time that was discussed on the term sheet from the very beginning. 40 <br /> 41 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Gunn/Stigney To approve Resolution 6564 Approving the Proposed Sale 42 <br />of Land Comprising the Bridges of Mounds Golf Course to Medtronic; and approving the 43 <br />Development Proposal and Terms of the Purchase Agreement and Contract for Private 44 <br />Development and waive the reading. 45
