Eiection Procedure: For each office, the chair�erson shall invite nominations from Plannin� Commission members. After nominations have been received, the chair�erson sha.Il entertain a motion to close nominations. Iisuch motion is made and �assed, and more than ane nomination has been,made the chaie�erson shall distribute ballots to the Comrtussion members and each member shall write his or �� her seiection on the balloi. The recordin�secretary shall icaliy the ballots and announce the nominee recei,vin� the mos� votes. DUTIES OF OFFICERS: The chair�erson sha11 preside over the meetin�s,of the Piannin Commissio and shall have the authori to add or cancei a enda review meetin�s or reg;ular meetin�;s, and to call special meetings a� provided in Section V The �rice chairperson shalf assume the duties o�the chairperson, in the absence of the chairperson IV, LIAIS�N TO COUNCIL: The Citv Council shall a�,�oint from among its members a Liaison to the Commission on an annual basis. � It is expected that the Council Liaison will attend the Commission meetin s on a re lar basis. In the event of the absence of the - Council Liaison at a Commission meetin�. a Commission member may be appointed by the cha.irperson to represent the Planning Con�nussion ai the ne�ct regtaiar City Council meeting or at the meeting where the Citv Council will be considering the planning cases acied upon by the Plannin� Commission in ihe absence of the Council Lia.ison. V. NIEETIlVGS A.
