RESOLUTION 6624 <br /> <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIAING AN EXPENDITURE FROM THE D.A.R.E. FUND FOR <br />D.A.R.E. OFFICER TRAINING. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mounds View Police Department has conducted D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse <br />Resistance Education) courses designed to help detour students from violence and use of <br />illegal drugs since 1989,and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this program has proven to be popular in the community and the Police <br />Department wishes to continue offering D.A.R.E. course, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department is in need of training a new Officer to be certified to <br />instruct D.A.R.E., and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is no fee for the training course, however, since the required training is <br />offered out of state only, the costs associated with the training include transportation lodging <br />and meals. The cost estimated for this is expected to be approximately $3500. Funding for <br />the costs associated with this training is available in the Mounds View Police Department <br />D.A.R.E. account. The D.A.R.E. account is funded from grants and Ramsey County court <br />fine costs. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council for the City of Mounds View <br />approves an expenditure of approximately $3500 from the D.A.R.E. fund to cover the costs of <br />training a Officer to be certified to instruct D.A.R.E. courses. <br /> <br />Adopted this 26th day of September 2005. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Rob Marty, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Kurt Ulrich, City Administrator <br /> <br />(seal)
