Mounds View City Council September 26, 2005 Regular Meeting Page 17 Councilmember Thomas stated it is a comparison to the other jobs we have in Mounds View and 1 this is paying an equitable amount compared to the jobs we already have here. She agreed that 2 Stanton 6 is not the way to do it but that would require a complete reworking of all positions not 3 negotiated by labor union and it is not fair to ask for a delay until that correction occurs. 4 5 Mayor Marty agreed and stated that coming up with our own plan requires looking at all 6 positions in the City and some may have a pay freeze until the adjustment is made, or it could go 7 the other direction. Consideration of Holding a Special City Council Meeting prior to the 19 Transfer of Real Property Commonly known as The Bridges of Mounds 20 View Golf Course 21 22 City Administrator Ulrich reviewed that there are a number of items for the Council to consider 23 to close the sale to Medtronic by September 30, 2005 and a special meeting would have to be 24 called, requiring at least a 3-day notice. He distributed a list of eight items and stated if the 25 meeting is to be held on Thursday, it would have to be posted this evening. He reviewed other 26 potential meeting dates. 27 28 City Attorney Riggs explained that these items were dealt with in a different capacity, either 29 through contract or as result of the contract or transaction. Staff felt the Council should consider 30 them again before they are finalized. He stated the items are being finalized today and tomorrow, 31 based on timing of deeds and leases received as well as proposed language for various 32 agreements for the closure of the golf course. City Attorney Riggs stated that those items are 33 listed as either separate resolutions or separate agreements that he, Staff, and Ehlers felt should 34 go before the Council so they have a good understanding of what is called for and the finalized 35 items for this project. 36 37 Mayor Marty stated he was thinking about adding a ninth item and asked if the Council would 38 like to hold a special meeting on Thursday. He stated Medtronic’s building is going higher 39 instead of wider and using less of the 72.2 acres. He stated the last he heard they were using 25-40 30 acres. 41 42 Director Ericson indicated he cannot state the exact acreage but that sounds about right. 43 44
