Mounds View City Council September 26, 2005
Regular Meeting Page 18

Mayor Marty stated that Medtronic talked about the eastern part being retained as unimproved 1
green space and asked if there is a possibility to rezone that section as open space to ensure it will 2
remain open space. City Attorney Riggs stated that is a possibility but not proposed at this time. 3
He noted it is currently designated as an Outlot and not developable until considered by the 4
Council and rezoned. 5
6
Mayor Marty stated it has been rezoned. Director Ericson stated it is platted as an outlot and the 7
City is currently under the process of rezoning. It would not be subject to development until 8
replatted as a lot. Director Ericson stated Staff can open the discussion with Medtronic about 9
considering a different zoning for the outlot. 10
11
City Administrator Ulrich stated another option is a conservation or drainage easement to assure 12
conservation. 13
14
Mayor Marty stated he wanted to bring it up before the “ink is dry” so it is not too late to 15
preserve that area as open space. 16
17
City Attorney Riggs stated he distributed a suggested agenda after discussion with Staff. If the 18
City were to receive a complaint tomorrow, that should also be discussed. City Attorney Riggs 19
explained that such a complaint would go to the League and their assigned attorney will deal with 20
it. 21
22
Councilmember Flaherty stated he is out of the State on Thursday and not available for a special 23
meeting. 24
25
City Attorney Riggs stated it is hoped that all five Councilmembers can be present but if not the 26
meeting could be held on Monday. 27
28
City Administrator Ulrich noted a Council Work Session is already scheduled for Monday. 29
30
Mayor Marty suggested that the Special Council meeting start earlier, at 6:00 p.m. The Council 31
agreed. 32
33
Duane McCarty, 8060 Long Lake Road, asked if the agenda items will be available before the 34
meeting. City Attorney Riggs answered in the affirmative. 35
36
Councilmember Thomas noted the agenda may be changed and does not need to be posted until 37
Thursday. 38
39
Mayor Marty announced that a Special Council meeting will be held on Monday, October 3, 40
2005, starting at 6 p.m. 41
42
I. Resolution 6640 Authorizing the Payroll/Utility Billing Technician Job 43
Description and appointing that position to Debbie Jasper 44
45
