Staff will present that 1 recommendation to the Council for consideration. 2 3 City Administrator Ulrich stated three items would be reserved with a minimum bid price: the 4 Jacobson Greens Mower, the Toro Sprayer Fertilizer, and Bobcat Skid Loader. Those three 5 items have a substantial value while others on the list are fully or near fully depreciated. The 6 Skid Loader is only one year old and the minimum bid would be $22,000. He noted there has 7 been interest in purchasing the green turf from another golf course and private parties may also 8 be interested. Sand trap sand may also be of interest for purchase. City Administrator Ulrich 9 explained that turf and sand would be sold in lots as is and buyers given ten days to pick it up. 10 The buildings would be sold on site and with the City Hall being remodeled to include some of 11 the excess equipment and furniture in the auction. 12 13 Mayor Marty asked about the Toro Sprayer. 14 15 Golf Course Golf Course Manager Burg stated she sent an e-mail to Mr. Ulrich today that 16 included the value of the sprayer. It is now being recommended that the sprayer be transferred to 17 the Parks and Recreation Department. She explained that golf course staff used to do the 18 spraying in the City. The unit was purchased at $7,500 as a demo equipment and used for two 19 seasons. 20 21 Mayor Marty stated the Number 9 green sod was partially replaced and cost about $20,000. He 22 stated he talked with Dave Parker who indicated the irrigation system, heads, timers, and clocks, 23 installed, cost $250,000 to $500,000. He asked if the difference can be split with Medtronic so 24 the City gets at least $125,000 for it. He noted that would be more than if the system were 25 removed and sold. 26 27 Golf Course Manager Burg stated the irrigation system is definitely more valuable if sold 28 installed. She advised that calls have been received for the parts, noting the heads cost $100 each 29 and there are probably 10 heads per hole. 30 31 Mayor Marty stated if all the heads were transferred to the Public Works for use in City parks, it 32 would probably be worth about $7,000 to buy them used. If buying new heads, it would cost the 33 City about $25,000. 34 35 City Administrator Ulrich stated Medtronic is interested in the irrigation system so Staff will try 36 to work out something. 37 38 Golf Course Manager Burg noted that installation is worth about one-half of the cost. 39 40 Mr. McCarty stated he knows some people in the golf course business and asked if it is possible 41 to set a minimum bid on the irrigation system, in particular the pump. He suggested the system 42 be put up for the auction both with them taking it out or the buyer taking it out. Mr. McCarty 43 noted that two come-alongs will be transferred to the Parks and Recreation Department at $10 44 each, which is not enough. He stated he would offer $50 for them. 45
