Mounds View City Council September 26, 2005
Regular Meeting Page 21

1
City Administrator Ulrich asked Finance Director Beer to address the transfer issue. 2
3
Finance Director Beer explained that no money is transferred between funds, it would be only a 4
paper transfer since the City already owns the equipment. 5
6
Ken Glidden, 5240 Edgewood Drive, stated there are two items in discussion valued at $125,000 7
in one case, and roughly $180,000 in the other. Both items were raised by concerned citizens 8
before this Council; the sale of the greens and irrigation system, both were brought up in 9
meetings at the Council. 10
11
Mr. Glidden stated this resolution establishes a date for the transfer of assets if sold. He asked 12
the Council to consider the other proceedings heard at the meeting tonight. He asked again if the 13
resolution establishes a date for the transfer. 14
15
Mayor Marty stated the identified items will be sold at public auction on October 20, 2005. 16
17
Mr. Glidden stated the Council heard some things this evening and should consider what that 18
date should be. He stated it seems premature to him. 19
20
Councilmember Stigney asked about the number of portable telephones. Golf Course Manager 21
Burg stated the portable telephone is a landline phone and was on the fixed asset list. The other 22
telephones are less in value than would be on a fixed asset list. 23
24
Councilmember Stigney asked if the Nextel telephones would be auctioned. Golf Course 25
Manager Burg stated they would be turned back and the contracts expired. 26
27
Councilmember Stigney asked if there is more than one picnic table and benches on the golf 28
course. 29
30
Golf Course Manager Burg stated Mr. Jahnke wants one picnic table but a lot of them are being 31
moved to the Parks and Recreation Department. 32
33
Councilmember Stigney noted that the Parks and Recreation Department is taking three tables 34
and one is being auctioned. He asked if there are only four tables. Golf Course Manager Burg 35
stated she was told to put items on the list that were over $100 in value. 36
37
City Administrator Ulrich stated that is correct and other items of lesser value will be included in 38
the auction, possibly in lots. 39
40
Councilmember Stigney noted the reference to one cable dish. Golf Course Manager Burg stated 41
they do not have cable service but have satellite so it would be the dish and converter. 42
43
Councilmember Stigney noted 14 golf carts are listed and asked how the rest would be disposed 44
of. 45
