Consider Resolution 6582, Appointing Mark Beer as the Finance 8 Director/Treasurer. 9 10 Director Ericson stated that there is an offer on the table to Mr. Mark Beer. He stated that the 11 offer is consistent with what the City Council had discussed and is available for review and 12 approval by the Council. 13 14 Council Member Flaherty noted that offer allows Mr. Beer to accrue his vacation at a rate of 15 three weeks annually and clarified that typically a new hire would receive two weeks of vacation 16 and that the reason Mr. Beer is being given this benefit is due to his background and experience 17 within the financial field. He also noted that Mr. Beer would be on vacation from September 8th 18 through September 18, 2005 and clarified that this would be non-pay. 19 20 Director Ericson confirmed stating that it is normal procedure to provide an incentive such as 21 additional vacation when a candidate has extensive experience. He confirmed that Mr. Beer 22 would be approved for a non-pay leave for a previously committed vacation planned for 23 September 8, 2005 through September 18, 2005, subject to his utilization of any applicable leave 24 time he has accumulated to that date. 25 26 MOTION/SECOND. Stigney/Thomas To approve Resolution 6582, Appointing Mark Beer as 27 the Finance Director/Treasurer for the City of Mounds View, Minnesota. 28 29 Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 30 31 G. Consider Resolution 6572, Approving Appointments to the Northwest Area 32 Library Access Task Force. 33 34 Director Ericson stated that this is a resolution to appoint of two members to the Northwest Area 35 Library Access Task Force. He explained that there are two open positions, one to be filled by a 36 City Council Member and the other to be filled by a Mounds View Citizen. He stated that Jane 37 Ahlstrom should be included on the Resident List as an additional candidate for the task force. 38 39 Council Member Flaherty suggested Dorie Lidinski noting that she has the experience working 40 with the North Chamber, Ramsey County and in a library. She stated that she has the most 41 experience out of all of the candidates working with libraries. 42 43 Mayor Marty stated that all of the candidates are good noting that based on the backgrounds 44 provided he would agree with Ms. Lidinski as a candidate. 45
