Mounds View City Council July 25, 2005 <br />Regular Meeting Page 21 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Thomas stated that she agrees with Ms. Lidinski due to her broad background. 2 <br /> 3 <br />Council Member Thomas volunteered to be the City Council representative for the Northwest 4 <br />Area Library Access Task Force noting that she does so with some reservation and bias towards 5 <br />Ramsey County. She stated that it is her feeling that Ramsey County has already made their 6 <br />decisions and selections. 7 <br /> 8 <br />Council Member Flaherty stated that he would like to nominate Council Member Sherri Gunn as 9 <br />the Council representative for the Northwest Area Library Access Task Force. He explained that 10 <br />he would like a representative from the Council that goes in without reservations and an open 11 <br />mind. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Council Member Gunn stated that she would have the time to devote to the Task Force and 14 <br />suggested that Council Member Thomas be her backup. 15 <br /> 16 <br />Council Member Thomas and Mayor Marty thanked the residents for their timely response to the 17 <br />call for volunteers on this task force. 18 <br /> 19 <br />MOTION/SECOND. Flaherty/Marty To approve Resolution 6572 Approving the Nomination 20 <br />and Appointment of Council Member Sherri Gunn as the Mounds View City Council 21 <br />Representative and Ms. Dorie Lidinski as the Mounds View Resident Representative to the 22 <br />Northwest Area Library Access Task Force and waive the reading. 23 <br /> 24 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 25 <br /> 26 <br />9. CONSENT AGENDA 27 <br /> 28 <br />Council Member Gunn asked to pull Item 9A for further clarification and discussion. 29 <br /> 30 <br />A. Moved for discussion. - Resolution 6586 Approving Plans and Specifications 31 <br />for the Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) Installation Project. 32 <br />B. Licenses for Approval. 33 <br /> 34 <br />MOTION/SECOND Thomas/Marty To Approve Item 9B on the Consent Agenda as presented. 35 <br /> 36 <br /> Ayes-5 Nays-0 Motion carried. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Item 9A. Resolution 6586, Approving Plans and Specifications for the Emergency 39 <br />Vehicle Pre-emption (EVP) Installation Project. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Police Chief Sommer explained that the plans and specifications for the Emergency Vehicle Pre-42 <br />emption Installation project involves installing equipment at the traffic lights in the City. He 43 <br />explained that it would allow emergency vehicles to activate the lights to green as they proceed 44 <br />through the intersections. He stated that this makes emergency travel much safer as it allows 45
