<br />Item No: 10J <br />Meeting Date: Sept. 27, 2004 <br />Type of Business: CB <br />Administrator Review : ____ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Aaron Backman, Economic Development Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution No. 6365 Ordering the Preparation of an <br />Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) for the <br />Proposed Bridges Business Development Project <br /> <br />Date of Report: September 27, 2004 <br /> <br />Introduction: <br /> <br />The Mounds View Economic Development Authority (the “Authority”) and the City Council have <br />directed staff to explore all potential options relating to the operation of the Bridges of Mounds <br />View Golf Course (the “Bridges”), including the possible redevelopment of the course. <br /> <br />Discussion: <br /> <br />On September 13, 2004 the Mounds View EDA authorized the selection of RLK-Kuusisto, Ltd. of <br />Minnetonka, MN to undertake an Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) process for the <br />Bridges Golf Course. This assessment process enables the City to effectively determine and <br />assess the transportation, public services, environmental and other parameters of potential <br />development of The Bridges site. RLK held a coordinating meeting with City Staff on September <br />22, 2004 and has begun gathering information for the AUAR. The Minnesota Environmental <br />Quality Board (EQB) requires that the City Council adopt a resolution ordering the preparation of <br />the AUAR. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Mounds View City Council adopt Resolution 6365 ordering the <br />preparation of the AUAR for the Bridges Business Development Project. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />________________________ <br />Aaron A.
