10
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES OF THE COMMUNITY (continued)
Staff is good to work with, good business support. Don't have any weaknesses for the city.
Good to see a Business Development Coordinator that cares enough to visit us. City is good to work with. All roads get plowed and
infrastructure is improved or replaced as needed. Asking why County raised solid waste fees? Has concerns with County if they close
Clifton Drive. Otherwise, overall everything seems to be going well.
Most of city staff cares about local businesses. Police department is difficult to work with.
Roads always plowed, like the road improvements, like the proposed plans to widen street improvement next to their business.
Community is a good place to live. City Council and staff are great to work with. Need more parking at current facility. Mennonites
don't like to advertise, so this hurts business. They get a lot of business at shows.
City supports businesses. County Road H improvements will hinder business due to the possible closure of two entrances. However,
traffic will increase at this site.
Mounds View is great to work with, staff is very responsive. All concerns were addressed by city staff promptly.
Like Mounds View, location to I-35W and friendly city staff. Like the fact that there is a Business Development Coordinator with
direct contact to businesses. No issues with the city.
This was first contact with city. No issues.
City services seem in good condition. Like the idea of a Business Development Coordinator to be the liaison between the city and
local businesses. Need to do something about home businesses. We can't compete because we have to pay sales taxes and they
don't because they sell on the internet.
Great access to I-35W and 694. City is great to work with. Good Police response when needed. Roads get plowed and regularly
maintained. Staff is responsive to our needs.
Great support from city staff. City services are good. No complaints. Great access to I-35W & Hwy 10.
Active Community Development staff, good infrastructure. Need to salt intersection of Mustang Drive & Old Hwy 8, trucks sliding.
Otherwise city does a good job providing services.
Good location to I-35 and Hwy 10
City services are up to par and doing a good job. Ramsey County taxes are too high.
Great location, centrally located with access to I-35W & Hwy 10. City is responsive with needs. Give city 9 out of 10 for city services.
Good city service and responsive staff. Council had a chance year back to install a pedestrian bridge over County Road 10. Federal
would have paid 90% and City 10%. But Council turned it down. They lost an opportunity. Need right turning lane at intersection of
Silver Lake Road. Still using old addressing along County Road 10.
City services are very good and they support local businesses. Staff is good to work with.
The City of Mounds View does a great job assisting local businesses. They have had no concerns.
Clean city, no weaknesses
Variety of businesses and access to I-35W, Need more restaurants.
Business friendly, responsive, access to I-35W & 694. No weaknesses.
Very Business friendly, good infrastructure, great access to I-35W.
City is good to work with, except when they didn't allow a building expansion. They instead, had to build a 3 car garage and that was
maxed out right away. They still need room to expand, but have no where to go. So will consider leaving Mounds View when lease is
up.
Like location to I-35W & 694. Need more restaurants.
City provides great services and is business friendly
Business friendly, good access to I-35W, closer to employees homes, city services are good. No weaknesses.
Good infrastructure and great location.
Location, business friendly
Great location, no weaknesses.
Safe, less crime than Brooklyn Center. Police responsive, business friendly.
Easy to work with and get permits.
No issues with the city.
Been here since 1998 and haven't had any issues with the city.
Great location! City easy to work with. No issues with city.
Great access to major transportation routes. City easy to work with.
Like the City's consideration for collective garbage service.
City good to work with except when they ok'd business to cut bushes then questioned why he cut the bushes. 2 years ago.
City is always good to work with. Business friendly.
Love the Police: super helpful and responsive. School district and geography, New Brighton/Mounds View region, trails. Changed the
Mounds View Boulevard Street name. City's Water/WW fees for businesses are too high. Need an artery bus route. There is nothing
for the western side of the City. Be more engaged in things like Rotary and TCN Chamber, etc. list specific steps on Council Priorities
list and explain at Business Council Meetings, Explain housing loan programs and how the bank could cooperate with their FHA
Loans Lender person, 1950's homes, architect designs book. City should publish this book and make available to public; how to
change and upgrade their housing.
