Item No. 8C <br />Type of Business: CB <br />WK: Work Session; PH: Public Hearing; <br />CA: Consent Agenda; CB: Council Business <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Charles Hansen, Finance Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 5927 Authorizing the Purchase of Audio <br />Equipment for the Banquet Center <br />Meeting Date: February 24, 2003 <br /> <br />This is a follow up to the meetings of January 13 and January 27, 2003 when this <br />item was submitted to the City Council directed staff to obtain additional bids. <br /> <br />The Council was updated at your last meeting on February 10th that the work, or <br />most of the work, was already completed. This was done while Mr. Bradley was on <br />vacation and was unaware that the vendor had begun. <br /> <br />While no one condones the events that have brought us to this point, the fact <br />remains that work has been completed by the vendor and there is a potential loss <br />of revenue to the banquet facility for each day the new audio system remains <br />inoperable. <br /> <br />Attached is Resolution 5927 approving the purchase and installation of the <br />equipment and amends the 2003 budget to provide for it. Furthermore, the <br />resolution has been modified from previous versions to include a clause indicating <br />that payment may be made only after acceptance of the work, which shall include <br />schematic drawings, as built plans, equipment manuals, manufacturer warranties, <br />and demonstration that the system performs as promised. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Charles Hansen
