Mounds View City Council March 10, 2003
Regular Meeting Page 19

F. Resolution 5963 Approving the Legal Services RFP and Authorizing its 1
Distribution 2
3
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated he had made the requested changes to the RFP with 4
the exception of the request of Council Member Marty as there was not clear direction on the 5
requested change. 6
7
Interim City Administrator Ericson indicated the City Attorney had recommended a change under 8
Section 5(b)(9) as the City cannot request or expect to receive the contents of the most recent 9
audit or financial report. 10
11
City Attorney Riggs indicated that would result in an ethical violation for an attorney to do that. 12
13
Interim City Administrator Ericson suggested adding a retainer fee under Section K1 for the 14
prosecuting attorney. 15
16
Council Member Gunn indicated her notes reflect that Council Member Marty wanted all of the 17
Farmington information added. 18
19
Council Member Marty indicated he wanted to add the costs per mile, and identify minimum 20
increments of time billed for each service. He then asked that Farmington’s 5 and 6 be added as 21
Mounds View’s 4 and 5 under K. 22
23
Council Member Stigney asked for the City Attorney’s opinion on the document. 24
25
City Attorney Riggs indicated he had discussed the document with Mr. Ericson and had brought 26
up the only issues he had with it. He then said that it was comprehensive and the language was 27
fairly standard. 28
29
MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn.
