Resolution 5957 Approving the Submission of a Grant Request to the Twin Cities 4 <br />North Chamber of Commerce Charitable Gambling Committee 5 <br /> 6 <br />Council Member Marty asked that Items C and F be removed for discussion. 7 <br /> 8 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Stigney. To Approve Consent Agenda Items A, B, D, and E as 9 <br />Presented. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Public Works Director Lee indicated the $5,299 does reflect the discount of the trade-ins. 14 <br /> 15 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Approve Consent Agenda Item C as Presented. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if this was an item that could be held off for the future. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Public Works Director Lee indicated it could be extended but the City is running into issues with 20 <br />maintenance and repairs. He then said that most cities replace the equipment at 10 to 12 years 21 <br />and the City is out 15 years on this piece of equipment. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Council Member Marty commented that waiting would mean a lower trade in price for the 24 <br />equipment. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Council Member Stigney asked if Staff needs this equipment regardless of the expected cuts in 27 <br />July. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Stigney commented that it seems like the City paid $1,000 too much in tax and 30 <br />asked Staff to look into it. 31 <br /> 32 <br /> Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 33 <br /> 34 <br />Council Member Marty asked Golf Course Manager Burg to review her Staff report. 35 <br /> 36 <br />Golf Course Manager Burg indicated she was seeking approval to submit a grant request to pay 37 <br />for youth golf lessons from the Chamber and the funds would supply bus transportation, a lesson 38 <br />with a PGA pro, golf balls and a snack for up to 48 kids. She then said that she would be 39 <br />requesting $5,520 to cover all of the expenses and has received grants from the Chamber in the 40 <br />past. 41 <br /> 42 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Gunn. To Approve Consent Agenda Item F as Presented. 43 <br /> 44 <br />Ayes – 4 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 45
