Community Survey 19 <br /> 20 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that he would like to amend his recommendation to allow 21 <br />staff time to research other types of survey options. He then asked for Council feedback as to 22 <br />whether Council is interested in pursuing the community survey option noting that the surveys 23 <br />have, in the past, provided invaluable information as to what the residents want. 24 <br /> 25 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated the City has a history of doing surveys but has not done one 26 <br />since 1992. He then indicated that the City has funds budgeted for a community survey in the 27 <br />2003 budget. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Mayor Linke asked whether questions within a question counted as part of the 50 questions. 30 <br /> 31 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that questions within a question were not counted toward the 32 <br />50. He then indicated the questions provided were a sample and noted that the actual questions 33 <br />to be used have not been determined. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Linke indicated he would want a question regarding park and recreation programming and 36 <br />whether to stay with the YMCA and what residents think of the programming provided versus 37 <br />those that were provided when the City had its own park and recreation department. 38 <br /> 39 <br />Council Member Marty indicated that the community survey has been discussed a number of 40 <br />times in the past and while the information would be nice to have he questions whether the 41 <br />timing is appropriate due to tight budget constraints. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Gunn indicated that when she was on the park and recreation commission they 44 <br />were working on the questions to bring to Council for discussion.
