Resolution 6103 Approving the Purchase of an Upgrade to the Automated 1 <br />Water Meter Reading System 2 <br /> 3 <br />Finance Director Hansen indicated that in the mid 1990’s the City installed remote read water 4 <br />meters in most of the houses in the City that are read over the telephone lines and, at the same 5 <br />time, purchased a computer and software to read the meters. He then indicated that the software 6 <br />and computer have never been upgraded and it is necessary to do so now because the software 7 <br />program is DOS based and the company will be ceasing maintenance on that program. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Director Hansen indicated that the Resolution authorizes $3,500 for the purchase the software 10 <br />and $1,000 for a computer to run it. He then indicated that the purchase would be funded 11 <br />through the water fund. 12 <br /> 13 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Gunn. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6103, a 14 <br />Resolution Approving the Purchase of an Upgrade to the Automated Water Meter Reading 15 <br />System. 16 <br /> 17 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 18 <br /> 19 <br />J. Request for the Appointment of an Elected Official to the Ramsey County 20 <br />Public Safety Communications (800 MHz) Policy Committee 21 <br /> 22 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that the Mayor of Falcon Heights has volunteered to 23 <br />represent the 14 cities and one township on this Committee. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council consented. 26 <br /> 27 <br />K. Resolution 6104 Authorizing Payment for Property Damage to Dennis 28 <br />Hammes 29 <br /> 30 <br />City Administrator Ulrich indicated that Mr. Hammes maintains that his garage was damaged in 31 <br />the amount of $150.00 by snow removal last winter and Staff recommends approval of a payment 32 <br />of $150.00 to Mr. Hammes to resolve this matter. He then commented that this matter was 33 <br />submitted to the insurance company and the claim was denied. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Council Member Marty indicated he had gone out there this winter and saw where the snow was 36 <br />and this summer he looked at it and there is a hole in the area where the snow was blasted so he 37 <br />would recommend approval. 38 <br /> 39 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Quick. To Waive the Reading and Approve Resolution 6104, a 40 <br />Resolution Authorizing Payment for Property Damage to Dennis Hammes. 41 <br /> 42 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 43 <br /> 44
