• Minor Arterial streets will be stopped at intersections with streets having the following characteristics: 1. Intermediate Arterial • Where local residential streets intersect with each other there will normally be no recommendation for stop signs unless there are unusual characteristics such as: 1. Streets adjacent to schools or other facilities that may generate volumes of pedestrian or vehicular traffic significantly exceeding that which would be present without the facility. 2. Unusual road characteristics such as limited sight distance or skewed intersections. 3. Other factors affecting the public safety and free flow of traffic. B. Four Way Stop Signs The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices guidelines will be used for evaluating the installation of four way stop signs.
