Mounds View City Council Page Five
0 Regular Meeting May 9, 1994
COUNCIL BUSINESS
A. Consideration of Resolution No. 4568 Authorizing Budget Transfer for
1994 Five Year Goal Program
Samantha Orduno, City Administrator, stated that the Five Year Goal
Program represents the goals and objectives for the next five years
and outlines the action priorities by which the goals will be
accomplished. Orduno stated that the intent is to mail or deliver
this brochure to every stakeholder in the City of Mounds View.
Orduno further stated that this brochure is in addition to the City
Newsletters and, therefore, a transfer from the contingency account
to the administration account would be necessary.
Councilmember Trude asked if the City Newsletter Account could
handle this expenditure.
Orduno stated that there will be a mailing regarding the nuisance
ordinance. Orduno stated that the City is averaging one per month
and it isn't known what will transpire at the end of the year.
Councilmember Trude suggested that the funds be taken out of the
!II publication budget and if, at the end of the year, this fund is
short a transfer can be made from contingency.
A discussion followed regarding the number of the newsletters
already mailed and the size of those newsletters. It was pointed
out that there has been an increased size to the newsletters to
include Focus 2000 recommendations and to include items requested by
the residents. Mayor Linke noted that the last newsletter was the
largest ever put out by the City.
Councilmember Blanchard stated that contingency is to be used for
unexpected items. Blanchard stated that she concurred with
Counci ember Trude in_tha he-_fundssh-ould be taken out_of the
newsletter fund and a transfer made from contingency later, if
necessary.
MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Blanchard to Adopt Resolution Approving the
Publication and City-Wide Mailing of the 1994 Five Year Goal Program
Brochure
VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried
B.
