Consideration of Adoption of Resolution No. 4665, Hiring of
Recycling Intern
Tim Cruikshank, Assistant to City Administrator, reported that
in April of this year, the City's Recycling Coordinator/Code
• Enforcement Officer left the City of Mounds View for another
position. In the meantime, the recycling duties that had been
performed by that position were being handled by existing
members of the Community Development Department. Those
responsibilities have not been fully performed for staffing
purposes, but rather to the extent to keep the program
functioning.
At the October 10, 1994 Council Meeting, the City Council
adopted Reso]_ution No._637 which approvedthe filling of the
Recycling Intern position. Since then, Cruikshank and Paul
Harrington, Community Development Coordinator, interviewed six
candidates and determined that Laurie Mezera-Kerr was the most
qualified to fill the position. It is a 19 hour per week
position, at $8 . 00 per hour and receives no benefits.
Cruikshank recommended to Council the hire of Laurie Mezera-
Kerr for the position of Recycling Intern with funding to come
from Ramsey County SCORE Grant.
Councilmember Trude asked if this was a position that the
County would provide funds for. She also questioned if the
duties of this position would include getting the multi-family
dwellings on line for recycling, coordinating the Clean-Up
