He <br />agreed the City may want to reconsider the sidewalk <br />issue. <br />Mr. Bardwell questioned the need for a four lane road. <br />as there are four lane roads close both to the north <br />and south, adding he feels it is a waste of the tax- <br />payers money. He further stated he feels he will be <br />losing value on his home with the widening of County <br />Road J. <br />Duane McCarty, 8060 Long Lake Road, questioned the <br />analysis done on storm water run-off. <br />Mr. Paulu reviewed the information, explaining that <br />they looked at where the existing drainage is going. <br />This proposal will not change any drainage patterns <br />and will not bring any water into Mounds View that is <br />not already coming in now. <br />Wayne Leonard, project manager from Ramsey County <br />Public Works Department, reviewed the history of the <br />planned development of the road, and how Anoka <br />County and Ramsey County came to work together on it. <br />• Mr. Mielke questioned why four lanes are planned, <br />whether it is due to traffic or road standards. <br />Mr. Paulu replied the traffic volume projections call <br />for it, as well as the existing traffic. <br />Mr. McCarty stated the committee will be making a <br />recommendation to the full County Board as soon as <br />possible, once the final report is received. <br />Jean Rockney, of Greenwood and Long Lake Road, <br />questioned why it was planned for four lanes, and <br />asked why people couldn't use Hwy. 610 instead. <br />Mr. Bardwell asked about eliminating heavy trucks <br />from the road, stating they could use the existing <br />four lane roads to the north and south. He added <br />he definitely wanted the truck traffic kept off <br />County Road J. <br />Mr. Paulu replied that if State aid is used, they <br />cannot restrict trucks from the road. He added <br />the road design limit is for 10 tons. <br />Rachael Bardwell questioned how much traffic 89th <br />Avenue carried, and she suggested widening County <br />• Road J, but not to four lanes, and also suggested <br />making it a City street.
