Monday, February 14, 2000, City Council Minutes <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Marty/Quick. To accept the February 14, 2000 City Council minutes as <br />corrected. <br /> <br />Council Member Thomason requested a correction to Page 2, sixth paragraph, last line to <br />indicate “…in her capacity as being on the Board of Directors of this organization.” <br /> <br />Council Member Thomason requested a correction to Page 4, fifth paragraph, last sentence to <br />indicate “…some time after the March 2nd Appreciation Dinner.” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 5, seventh paragraph, second line, to <br />indicate “…Wednesday, February 23.” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 2, third paragraph, fifth line, to indicate <br />“…$800 to $1,000 per day.” <br /> <br />Council Member Marty requested a correction to Page 15, third paragraph, second line, to omit <br />the second word “would,” and to indicate “…would also pertain.” <br /> <br />Mayor Coughlin requested that all references to the Streets Policies Committee Chairperson, <br />Mary Malrick, beginning on Page 11, third paragraph, be corrected to reflect the correct spelling <br />of her name. <br /> <br />Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />5. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br /> <br /> A. Resolution of Appreciation for Congressman Bruce Vento. <br /> <br />Mayor Coughlin stated that also in light of the tragic event of the previous Friday, staff has not <br />had the opportunity to prepare a resolution as requested by the Council. He stated would like to <br />publicly thank Congressman Bruce Vento for his years of service to the area and to the <br />community. He stated they did not necessarily agree on political issues, however, Congressman <br />Vento has served with honor and distinction. <br /> <br />Mayor Coughlin stated in lieu of a resolution before the Council, he would move to commend <br />and thank Congressman Vento for his years of service to the community, and he would further <br />request that staff prepare a resolution for presentation to the Council in this regard. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Coughlin/Quick. To Commend and Thank Congressman Vento for His <br />Years of Service to the Community, and to Request Staff Prepare a Resolution for Presentation to <br />the Council in this Regard.
