1005.02 1005.03 <br /> <br /> <br />c. Provides for administration, enforcement and penalties. (1988 Code ∋93.01) <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Scope: Every portion of a building or premises used or intended to be used for residential purposes, except <br />rest homes, convalescent homes, nursing homes, hotels and motels, shall comply with the provisions of this <br />Chapter, irrespective of when such building shall have been constructed, altered or repaired and any alterations <br />thereof or changes of use therein, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, by the enforcement of this Code, <br />shall be done in accordance with applicable Sections of the Building Code1 and Zoning Code 2. (1988 Code <br />∋93.02) <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Application to PreExisting Dwellings and Multiple Dwellings: This Chapter establishes minimum standards <br />for the initial and continued occupancy of all buildings and does not replace or modify standards otherwise <br />established for the constructions, repair, alteration or use of building equipment or facilities. (1988 Code <br />∋93.03) <br /> <br />1005.03: DEFINITIONS; CONSTRUCTION OF WORDS: <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Construction of Words: <br /> <br />a. Words used in the present tense include the future; words in the masculine gender include the feminine and <br />neuter; the singular number includes the plural and the plural the singular. <br /> <br />b. Where terms are not defined in this Section and are defined in the Building Code3 or Zoning Code4, they <br />shall have the meanings ascribed to them in the Building Code or Zoning Code. <br /> <br />c. Where terms are not defined under the provisions of this Chapter or in the Building or Zoning Code, they <br />shall have ascribed to them their ordinary accepted meanings and/or such as the context herein may imply. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Definitions: Unless otherwise expressly stated, the following terms shall, for the purpose of this Chapter, <br />have the meanings indicated in this subdivision: <br /> <br /> 1 See Chapter 1001 of this Title. <br /> 2 See Title 1100 of this Code. <br /> 3 See Chapter 1001 of this Title. <br /> 4 See Title 1100 of this Code.
