1005.11 1005.12 <br /> <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Minimum Floor Area for Sleeping Purposes: Every rooming unit occupied for sleeping purposes by one (1) <br />occupant shall contain at least seventy (70) square feet of floor area. Every rooming unit occupied for sleeping <br />purposes by more than one (1) occupant shall contain at least fifty (50) square feet of floor area for each <br />occupant thereof. <br /> <br />Subd. 3. Bed Linen and Towels: The operator of every rooming house shall change supplied bed linen and towels <br />therein at least once a week and prior to the letting of any room to another occupant. The operator shall be <br />responsible for the maintenance of all supplied bedding in a clean and sanitary manner. <br /> <br />Subd. 4. Shades, Drapes, Etc: Every window of every rooming unit shall be supplied with shades, drawn drapes or <br />other devices or materials which, when properly used, will afford privacy to the occupant of the rooming unit. <br /> <br />Subd. 5. Sanitary Maintenance: The operator of every rooming house shall be responsible for the sanitary <br />maintenance of all walls, floors and ceiling and for the sanitary maintenance of every other part of the rooming <br />house, and the operator shall further be responsible for the sanitary maintenance of the entire premises where <br />the entire structure or building within which the rooming house is contained is leased or occupied by the <br />operator. (1988 Code ∋93.14) <br /> <br /> <br />1005.12: MULTIPLE DWELLING REGISTRATION: <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Certificate Required: No person shall allow to be occupied or let to another for occupancy units in a <br />multiple dwelling for which a certificate of registration has not been provided by the Building Inspection <br />Department. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. Registration Statement and Application: The Building Inspection Department shall issue a certificate of <br />registration after a registration statement and application have been filed in said office if the building is found to be in <br />compliance with this Chapter. <br /> <br />a. A registration statement must be filed with the Building Inspection Department no more than ninety (90) <br />days after the effective date hereof; a registration statement shall be filed with the Building Inspection <br />Department after construction is completed but before any units are occupied. <br /> <br />b. Registration statements shall be signed and submitted by the owner of a multiple dwelling if the owner is a <br />natural person, if the owner is a corporation, by an officer thereof and if the owner is a partnership, by a partner <br />thereof. <br />
