Mr. Frits stated that he recalled that <br />the Storm Water Management Plan surfaced two years ago but was not <br />voted on. <br />Ric Minetor, Director of Public Works/City Engineer, stated that the <br />plan was adopted in February of 1992. <br />Mayor Linke explained to Mr. Frits that the financing portion of the <br />plan had not been discussed, but rather the verbiage of the plan. .The <br />financing for the plan has not been approved yet. <br />• Mr. Frits asked why do anything. Why have a Storm Water Management <br />Plan? <br />Mayor Linke explained that state law mandated the City to have a <br />Storm Water Management Plan. Mayor Linke further stated that this <br />item was discussed and voted on during open meetings of the City <br />Council. <br />Bill Frits stated that the Council promised public hearings on the <br />sidewalk on Long Lake Road and there were none held. <br />Ric Minetor, Director of Public Works/City Engineer stated that there <br />were public information meetings held on the Long Lake Road project. <br />There were no assessments abutting properties, therefore, no assessment <br />hearings had to be held per state law. <br />Mayor Linke explained that there were meetings held on the street, but <br />meetings weren't held separately on the sidewalk. <br />Mr. Frits stated his opposition to the sidewalk on Long Lake Road and <br />further stated that the Council is not listening to the people. Mr. <br />Frits also stated that the City Council hired a firm to find out what <br />the people want at a cost of $8,000 and still haven't listened to what <br />the people on Long Lake Road want. <br />Mayor Linke explained that there were public information meetings <br />held on the entire Long Lake Road project, not on parts of the project. <br />
