Mounds View City Council Page Seven <br />~egular Meeting April 13, 1992 <br />Councilmember Rickaby added that the Council had discussed the <br />financial portion of the Surface Water Management Plan at the <br />last Work Session and that it would be brought up again at the <br />next Council Work Session. <br />Mayor Linke stated that the financial portion of the Surface <br />Water Management Plan was brought up as part of the entire plan, <br />not an individual item. <br />6. Ric Minetor, Director of Public Works/City Engineer reviewed Staff <br />Report no. 92-231C regarding the remodeling of the existing water <br />filtration plant area for police garage and evidence storage. <br />Minetor stated that the contractor had not yet obtained all the <br />estimates from the subcontractors and that this item should be tabled <br />for two weeks. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Blanchard to Table for Two Weeks the <br />Issue of the Proposed Remodeling of the Existing Water Filtration <br />Plant Area for Police Garage and Evidence Storage <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />Ric Minetor, Public Works Director/City Engineer, reviewed Staff <br />~. Report No. 92-232C regarding the purchase of a Skidloader and <br />Asphalt Planer. Minetor stated that staff had budgeted these <br />items to improve the street maintenance and patching work in the <br />City. Minetor stated that staff received three bids on this <br />equipment. Only two of those bids met specifications. The low <br />bid was received from Carlson Tractor in the amount of $34,838. <br />Also requested on the bids were some accessories for this <br />equipment. Minetor stated that previously, staff had saved $6,000 on <br />the purchase of the tank monitoring system and would like to use <br />$3,000 of the savings from this purchase to buy some accessories for <br />the Skidloader. The total cost of equipment would be $38,306.00. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Wuori to award bid to Carlson Tractor <br />for a 1992 New Holland Skidloader with accessories for a Total <br />Cost of $38,306.00 to be Charged Equally to 700-4121-703, 730-4121- <br />703 and 100-4270-703. <br />VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried <br />8. Ric Minetor, Director of Public Works/City Engineer, reviewed <br />Staff Report No. 92-233C regarding the hiring of Bill Sjulstad <br />for Seasonal Employment in the Sewer Department. Minetor stated <br />that Sjulstad has worked as a seasonal employee for the City <br />during the last three summers. Mr. Sjulstad would not work for more <br />than 100 days. Sjulstad would be assigned to the sewer department. <br />Sjulstad's hire date would be April 8, 1992 at wage of $6.50 per hour. <br />
