City of Mounds View Comprehensive Plan <br />________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />56 <br />HOUSING PROGRAMS <br /> <br />The following housing programs have been, are, or will be used to address housing problems within <br />the city. <br /> <br /> <br />Housing Assistance <br /> <br />The following programs are offered to Mounds View residents to provide renter assistance and <br />below-market rate home mortgage. <br /> <br />Section 8 Vouchers: In 1998, 75 families receive Section 8 vouchers or certificates. <br /> <br />Minnesota Cities Participation Program: The Minnesota Housing Finance Agency (MHFA) offers <br />low-interest mortgage programs to assist low to moderate income families in securing a mortgage <br />for their first home. The City of Mounds View participated in 1995-1997 and beginning again in <br />2000. <br /> <br /> <br />Housing Developments <br /> <br />Programs used in Mounds View which expand or preserve the community’s stock of affordable <br />housing through new construction or rehabilitation. <br /> <br />Holman Units/Low Income Housing Tax Credits: Silver Lake Commons, construction of 10 <br />townhouse units and rehabilitation of 40 apartment units. There are also 10 Holman units in the <br />project. <br /> <br />Low Income Housing Tax Credits: Silver Lake Pointe, an 83-unit senior housing complex. <br /> <br />Section 202: Wildwood Manor, 40-unit senior housing complex. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
