Page 9
January 22, 1996
Mounds Vtew Crty Counctl
Barbara Matelsky, 4949 Old Highway 8, stated she purchased her home in February of 1994. At that time, she
inquired as to whether there were any proposals which would affect her property. She was not provided with
any information in regard to this. She was concerned that acquisition of a portion of her property would bring
the roadway too close to her home.
Ms. Trude asked if trees on the property would be lost.
Mr. Rholl noted that as proposed, some mature trees would be lost. The proposal provides fora 40 foot
roadway, which is a very popular roadway size.
Gil Groberg, 2657 Sherwood Road, suggested that they look at different design options.
Chet Glisan, 4943 Old Highway 8, stated he felt it would be necessary to provide sidewalks to address the
safety issue. He noted that the area is used regularly for rollerblading and he feels a safe area should be
provided for these people as well as other pedestrians. He further stated he felt they may need to acquire more
land than what is currently anticipated. He stated trucks turning onto Mustang Drive create problems in the
flow of traffic.
• Mr. Bruce Brasaemle, 5127 Long Lake Road, stated he is in favor of providing a solution to the continual
congestion problem at County Rd. H and Hwy. 10. He however, would suggest that the county look at
providing a 36 foot roadway rather than 40 foot and install a sidewalk for the kids at the mobile home park.
Mr. Rholl stated he would like to schedule a neighborhood information meeting in approximately one month to
provide further information in regard to the proposed project.
There were no further questions and Mayor Lirilce closed the informational meeting at 915 p.m.
Public Hearing to consider a Conditional Use Permit request to allow an oversized garage at 2908 Ardan
Avenue. Mayor Linke opened the Public Hearing at 9:15 p.m.
Ms. Joyce Pruitt, Planning Associate, explained that Mr. Anthony Honkomp had made an application for
Conditional Use Permit to allow for the construction of a 994 square foot attached garage to his proposed
single family home at 2908 Ardan Avenue. She stated the Mounds View Zoning Ordinance allows, by
conditional use permit, up to 1,264 square feet of garage/accessory buildings square footage on one lot.
Ms. Pruitt stated the Planning Commission has reviewed the request and has recommended approval.
However, approval of the request would be based upon two conditions which she outlined in the resolution.
These include: (a) the conditional use permit be recorded with Ramsey County within 60 days of City Council
approval, and a receipt of such recording shall be provided to the City of Mounds View; and (b) the building be
designed and maintained to provide a uniform building appearing with the dwelling unit.
Mayor Linke closed the Public Hearing at 9:19 p.m.
MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Quick to approve Resolution No. 4878, Approving a Conditional Use Permit to
• Allow and Oversized Garage for Anthony Honkomp, 2908 Ardan Avenue.
