Page 10 August 12, 1996 Mounds View City Council Mr. Whiting noted that staff has reviewed and revised the Uniform Schedule of Fees and Charges to make them consistent with State fees and charges. MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to approve Resolution No. 4987, Adopting the 1996 Fee Schedule. VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried G. Revision to the Contract for Auditing Services with Tauges, Redpath & Co. for the Year Ending December 31,199b. Mr. Bruce Kessel, Finance Director, stated in 1994 the City entered into an agreement with Tauges, Redpath & Co. to perform auditing services as of and for the years ending December 31, 1994, 1995 and 1996. The contract allows the parties to cancel the agreement upon 30 days written notice. Based upon his past experience as an auditor and finance director, he feels that greater city assistance could be provided to reduce the city's audit fee to $13,548 for 1996. The contract fee for the 1996 audit was $21,300. Mr. Kessel noted that he may need to hire someone to assist in typing the report, but that should not exceed $1,000. Therefore, he is recommending that the council approve the contract revision of Tauges, Redpath & Co. MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Trude to approve a revision to the contract with Tauges, Redpath & Co., Ltd. reducing the fee associated with the annual audit for the City of Mounds View as of and for the year ended December 31, 1996 to $13,548 with the stipulation that any services provided outside the scope of the contract be agreed to in writing prior to performing any such services. VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried H. Consideration of Resolution No. 4986, Approving the Hire of Ken Manthis, Head PGA ProfessionaUClubhouse Manager. Mr. Whiting stated as per the discussion at the City Council Work session on Monday, August 5, 1996, staff is recommending to hire Ken Manthis as a full time employee at the Golf Course, with a monthly salary of $1,500 plus $20 per lesson, funded through the Golf Course operations. MOTION/SECOND: Trude/Quick to approve Resolution No. 4986, Approving the Hire of Ken Manthis, Head PGA ProfessionaUClubhouse Manager, with the understanding that a specific contract be developed that will handle the overtime with comp time. VOTE: 5 ayes 0 nays Motion Carried I. Consideration of Resolution No. 4991, Approving the Hire of Steven Menard for the Position of Police Officer. Mr. Whiting explained that he is recommending the hiring of Steven Menard for the position of Police Officer. Mr. Menard has gone through the testing process which includes a written examination, interview, psychological testing, physical examination and a background investigation. It is the opinion of the • members of the Civil Service Commission that Mr. Menard is the best qualified candidate for the position of Patrol Officer.
