From: Nordby, Lori D <br />To: Jon Sevald <br />Subject: FW: Apartment building on Groveland <br />Date: Tuesday, June 26, 2018 3:12:18 PM <br />I am writing once again regarding the new Apartment Building the city is wanting to put up on the <br />corner of Groveland and Mounds View Boulevard and actually the one also down where Roberts <br />used to be. I want to know what the city plans on doing regarding the added traffic that will be on <br />Mounds View Boulevard if these are put up. I live on Spring Lake Park Road on the north side of <br />Mounds View Boulevard and right now you are pretty much taking your life in your hands if you are <br />coming from the west and trying to go North on Spring Lake Park Road. During rush hour I have sat <br />there for over 5 minutes just waiting to get onto our road. Also with people coming down our road <br />and trying to get onto Mounds View Boulevard and go East. With the added traffic it's only going to <br />get worse. I have even noticed the increase in traffic after the Senior Living Apartments were put <br />up down by the Auto Dealership. Plus with low income housing that is also going to bring down <br />everyone's property values. I also worry about who is going to be living in those apartments. We <br />have lived in Mounds View for 24 years and I can tell you that it does not feel as safe as it used to be <br />in our community. <br />I would also like to address the traffic on our road which is a through street from Mounds View <br />Boulevard to 85th. The speed limit is supposed to be 30 and people are flying down that road at <br />least 50 to 60 every single day. I have never understood why there isn't at least a stop sign at <br />Ardan. I have brought this up before and we were asked if a cop car could even sit in our driveway <br />and I told them yes. But that has never happened. We have children that are walking along our <br />street which has no sidewalks and it is very dangerous.
