Mayor offers appointment of <br />Robert Tilberg for an additional three years on the commission. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Mayor/Quick: Approve resolution 5294, Board of <br />Commission appointments, Robert Tilberg, for Mounds View Police <br />Chief . <br />Ayes - 5. Nays - 0. <br />9-E: Consideration of resolution 5304. The streets committee <br />report. <br />Discussion: This discusses present street policy and items <br />relating to such assessments. Street width, curb, gutter, <br />sidewalks, water runoff and surface management assessment <br />policies. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Stigney/Marty. Adopting resolution 5304. <br />Ayes - 5. Nays - 0. Motion carries. <br />• Item F: Consideration of appeal with regard to planning <br />commission resolution 558-98, a resolution denying a variance for <br />two curb cuts on 8111 Eastwood Road, requested by Michael Tabias. <br />Mr. Tabias is not present. <br />Discussion by Council: Council is well-informed on the issue and <br />prefers to take an immediate vote. <br />Discussion: To table this motion for two months to give time for <br />study., City Attorney stated a final decision must. be made within <br />60 days unless that has been extended. The plan commission <br />denied the variance and that 60 day period ended. We have a <br />maximum of 120 days. After 120 days the variance will <br />automatically be granted without action. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Couglin/Stigney. Motion to end debate. <br />Ayes - 4. Nays - 1. Motion passes. <br />MOTION/SECOND: Quick/Couglin. Motion to table with the <br />additional stipulation about the 120 days. <br />Ayes - 1. Nays - 4. Motion fails. <br /> <br />
