Mounds View City Council December 9, 2019 <br />Regular Meeting Page 7 <br /> <br />Police Chief Harder requested the Council approve the purchase of two Ford Police Utility 1 <br />Vehicles along with additional equipment and setup costs. He reported the department was 2 <br />hurting for vehicles at this time given the fact Ford canceled vehicle purchases last year and the 3 <br />department totaled another vehicle. He commented further on the proposed cost for the new 4 <br />vehicles and recommended approval. 5 <br /> 6 <br />Council Member Bergeron asked if the Police Department was satisfied with the Ford vehicles. 7 <br />Police Chief Harder stated he was happy with the Ford products at this time. 8 <br /> 9 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Hull. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9207, 10 <br />Approving the Purchase of Two Ford Police Utility Vehicles along with additional equipment 11 <br />and setup costs, noting the State bid would be out of St. Cloud and not Hibbing, Minnesota. 12 <br /> 13 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 14 <br /> 15 <br />J. Resolution 9208, Approving Contract with League of Minnesota 16 <br />Cities/American Legal Services for Codification. 17 <br /> 18 <br />City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council approve the contract with the League of 19 <br />Minnesota Cities/American Legal Services for codification. He explained the City has not 20 <br />codified its code in the past 10 years and over 50 ordinance amendments had to be codified. He 21 <br />reported American Legal Services specializes in this service and staff recommended approval of 22 <br />the contract. 23 <br /> 24 <br />Mayor Mueller asked if the code would be in a single or dual column. She indicates she 25 <br />supported the dual column format. 26 <br /> 27 <br />Council Member Hull supported the dual column format. 28 <br /> 29 <br />Council Member Meehlhause and Council Member Gunn supported staff pursuing whatever 30 <br />format works best for staff. 31 <br /> 32 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9208, 33 <br />Approving Contract with League of Minnesota Cities/American Legal Services for Codification. 34 <br /> 35 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 36 <br /> 37 <br />9. REPORTS 38 <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. 39 <br /> 40 <br />Council Member Gunn reported a 35W Coalition Meeting would be held on December 12th 41 <br />where the I-35W Coalition will be dissolved. 42 <br /> 43 <br />Council Member Gunn stated the SBM Santa Parade would be held on Thursday, December 12th. 44 <br /> 45
