Ballfield needs analysis at Silverview Park <br /> Using 6-guage wiring for six-foot fencing. <br /> $1424 for 6-foot fencing of 14-foot length near benches only <br /> $4660 additional per field to extend six-foot fencing down both baselines <br /> For eight-foot fencing, $1300 more per field down both baselines and bench areas. <br /> $6084 for one field with 6-foot fencing, bench area and both baselines ($12,168 for two fields) <br /> $7384 for one field with 8-foot fencing, bench area and both baselines ($14,768 for two fields) <br /> <br /> Any concerns from residents about overthrows and safety? None. <br /> A resident did ask about additional fencing down the baselines to protect the fans <br /> Priorities: <br /> 1. Protect the benches <br /> 2. Along third baseline on field one, to protect the soccer fields <br /> 3. Extend fencing along all baselines <br /> Need to determine height. <br /> <br /> Park Improvement Plan says Redo Silver View Ball Field #1 and warning track at a cost of $2,000 <br /> Add to the height of the ball field backstop at Groveland at a cost of $10,000. <br /> Perhaps we bid out 8-foot fencing at both Silverview <br /> Motion by Kunz, 2nd by Kroeger to put fencing out for bids with 8-foot fencing on both fields. <br /> Go for total of 80-85 feet per baseline including bench protection. Add addendum bid for Groveland <br /> backstop to see if we can get a price break. Motion Passed 5-00 <br /> <br />e. Contribution from Bethlehem Baptist Church. Any reports??? No feedback yet <br /> <br />6. New Business: <br />a. Mounds View Coach of the Year Award. <br />Nominations were reviewed by the Commission. <br />Motion by Kroeger, 2nd by Arel to recommend candidate #1. Motion Passed 5-0. <br />Palm will contact the recipient and the family of Pat Holmes to make sure they can attend the Town <br />Hall Meeting in April. <br />Staff will create the plaque to present. <br />Develop a plan to get Coach-of-the-Year applications to parents at the end of the seasons with evaluation <br />forms. MVCC will put out the nomination form with the program evaluation form for each season. <br /> <br />b. Questions to pose for Town Hall Meeting survey. April 25th 9-12 at MVCC <br />None specific to pose. Commissioners should plan to attend the Town Hall meeting and be at the table <br />with the video showing, facility guides, list of email addresses, note cards to “leave a question or comment <br />for the Commission” Finalize at April meeting. <br /> <br /> c. Possible Farmer’s Market? Idea discussed at EDC meeting <br /> Commission reviewed the staff reports. Possible locations Silverview, City Hall, MVCC parking lot <br /> Possible tie-in with Music-in-the-Park nights <br /> Continue to follow-up with EDC
