MEMO TO: PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSIONERS
FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR
PARKS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
DATE: APRIL 4, 1989
SUBJECT: SPRING PARK CLEAN-UP
At the last Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, Commissioner
Starr suggested that each Commissioner supervise a park clean-up
at the neighborhood parks. I would like to offer you a plan that
you can discuss at the April meeting. The City's clean-up day is
Saturday, May 20.
PLAN:
Each commissioner could supervise the clean up at a given
park.
Pam Starr - Hillview
Frank Silvis - Oakwood
Wayne Burmeister - Lambert
Dave Long - Woodcrest
Gary Stevenson - Groveland
Ed Trettel - Silver View (on May 6)
The Parks and Recreation Department would provide garbage bags
for participants.
The garbage bags could be piled next to the park buildings
where Public Works will pick them up.
The Parks and Recreation Department would mail letters asking
residents living around the parks to participate, as well as
send information through the schools and to local scout
troops.
WHEN: Saturday, May 20
WHERE:
TIME: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Come and help clean up your neighborhood park. Bring your
rakes and shovels. We need to PICK UP LITTER, RAKE THE GRASS,
DISPERSE THE SAND IN THE PLAYLOTS.
Your help is needed. Come and join us for spring park clean-
up!
