-9 -
The Commission proposed that the $20,000
for the Land Use Study and Parks Survey be
delayed. The Commission does not feel that
there is sufficient money currently available
for development of this newly acquired land.
The Commission further proposed that when
the study is done, that it be funded through
the General Fund, rather than the Park
Dedication Fund, as other studies have been in
the past.
The Commission requested staff to write a
resolution including these points:
- The land is not yet all available.
- Much of the area is wetland.
- The land may be used for other city
functions.
- The opinion that the cost of the survey
should not come from the Park
Improvement Fund.
- As a priority, the Commission believes
the study is a low priority.
The opinion that even if a study were
done, where is the money for
development?
1992 and 1993
No changes proposed.
The Commission directed staff to write a
resolution to be submitted to the City Council
proposing the above changes to the 1989
Long Term Financial Plan, for approval.
CULVERT INSTALLATION AT SILVER Director Saarion reviewed the past Council
VIEW PARK action regarding the Public Works request for
a $13,000 culvert at Silver View Park to be
funded out of the Parks Improvement Plan.
The Commission was opposed to the entire
funds coming from the Parks Improvement
Fund. The Commissioners stated that because
the culvert will aid the Public Works
Department and also be an asset to storm
water management, that these funds should
share in the expense.
