David Long requested that staff provide prices on a bituminous pathway on the north
side of the park. The group thought that play equipment was a ,priority. Adeline Lee
suggested that perhaps the Shriners or Masons would be interested in donating money
for handicapped accessible facilities in the park.
Director Saarion suggested that playground equipment may be an item which the
Mounds View Lion's would be interested in funding.
Director Saarion asked the group to consider a recommendation regarding acceptance
of donations for items which are not on the priority list or which jump priorities.
After discussion, it was decided that the group will recommendation that donations
should be given without specification unless requested by the City for a specific item.
The unspecified donations would be used for priority items.
Ron Fagerstrom suggested that skating was a fun activity on the pond and asked if
some facilities should be offered for this activity. After discussion, it was agreed that
part of the skaters fun was clearing the ice, making benches, and nets and creating
their own skating areas.
George Andres brought up the idea of lighting the athletic fields. The group was
against lighting athletic fields referring to the 10:00 p.m. curfew.
After two hours, it was suggested that the meeting adjourn and next meeting date
chosen.
