DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT DRAFT <br />RAMSEY COUN7`Y PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />NOVEMBER 9. 1993 <br />The regular meeting of the Ramsey County Parks and Recreation Commission was called to order by <br />Chairman Nolan at 6:00 p.m., in the First Floor Conference Room, Ramsey County Parks and Recre- <br />ation Department, 2015 North Van Dyke Street, Maplewood, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Marge Anderson, Linda Ford, Bill Frank and Mark Nolan <br />Members Absent: Gary Botzek, Janey Gohl and Sue Gunderson <br />Staff Present: Greg Mack, Larry Holmberg and Cheryl Myran <br />Approval of Agenda <br />Chairman Nolan asked for a motion to approve the agenda. Ms. Ford moved, seconded by Mr. <br />Frank, that the agenda be approved. Motion carried. <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Chairman Nolan asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of October 12, <br />1993. Mr. Frank moved, seconded by Ms. Anderson, that the minutes of the October 12,1993, <br />meeting be approved as mailed. Motion carried. <br />Preliminary Discussion of a Proposed Amendment to the Grass-Vadnais Lakes Re- <br />gional Park Master Plan to Incorporate the Vadnais Lake Area <br />Mr. Mack distributed a concept map developed around 1980 for the Grass-Vadnais Lakes Regional <br />Park and gave an overview of the area. The 1087 -acre site consists of four segments: Snail Lake Park <br />(39 acres), Grass Lake Open Space Site (270 acres), Grass Lake Open Space Corridor (141 acres) and <br />Vadnais Lake Site (637 acres). The Snail Lake -Grass Lake area is owned and operated by Ramsey <br />County. A master plan for development of this area was approved by the County Board on March <br />24,1992 (Resolution No. 92-251), and the Metropolitan Council on June 11, 1992. The Vadnais Lake <br />site is owned and managed by the St. Paul Water Utility. Mr. Mack has met with Mr. Bernie Bullert, <br />
