MOUNDS �ViEw <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 8F <br />Meeting Date: October 26, 2020 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks & Recreation <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9331, Authorize Sanitary Sewer Line Repairs - <br />CIPP (cured -in -place pipe) <br />Background / Discussion: <br />During regular cleaning and inspection of the sanitary sewer system, Public Works Staff <br />discovered a section of sanitary sewer main line that requires immediate repairs. The pipe <br />has significant cracking and potential pipe failure. <br />Public Works contacted two contractors to provide proposals for the repairs and <br />installation of CIPP (cure -in -place —pipe). <br />Staff received proposals for the repairs as follows: <br />• Visu-Sewer $29,054.00 <br />• Insituform $25,665.70 <br />The funding for these repairs is budgeted in the Sanitary Sewer fund, 730-4823-7050, <br />which includes $175,000.00 for the sewer pipe relining program. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. <br />Financial Impact: No Impact to the 2020 Budget as repairs are budgeted, Sanitary <br />Sewer Fund, 730-4823-7050, for these necessary repairs. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval and authorization for Insituform of St. Paul, MN for <br />$XX,XXX,XX to repair the sanitary sewer main line by installing CIPP (cure -in —place - <br />pipe); to be funded from the Sanitary Sewer Fund account 730-4823-7050. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br />The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
