MOUN—DS VMW <br />City or Mounds View Staff Report <br />Item No: 8.F. <br />Meeting Date: December 14, 2020 <br />Type of Business: Council Business <br />Administrator Review <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resources Coordinator <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 9353 Authorizing the Extension of Sick Leave Balances <br />for COVID Related Absences <br />Introduction: <br />During the November 23, 2020 Reports portion of the Council Meeting, staff relayed concern from <br />Public Works Bargaining Unit employees who have used their 80 hours of Families First <br />Coronavirus Responsibilities Act (FFCRA) time for quarantine purposes. Staff indicated <br />employees who have tested negative have been quarantined and used their 80 hours of FFCRA, <br />and if they test positive in the future, will have a need for additional sick leave. <br />Discussion: <br />Public Works are following required COVID protocols. Plus, they are working split shifts, driving <br />one person per vehicle, and taking breaks off -site.
