Resolution 9437, Approving Lease Amendments to the Water Tower Site <br />Lease Agreements for T-Mobile and Sprint. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve lease <br />amendments to the water tower site lease agreements for T-Mobile and Sprint. He reported T- <br />Mobile would be merging with Sprint. He discussed the terms within the T-Mobile lease which <br />began in 2016, noting all equipment at the base of the water tower had to be removed. He <br />commented further on the proposed amendments within the lease and recommended approval. <br /> <br />Finance Director Beer explained until the merger is final, the two companies have to act as separate <br />entities. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause questioned how much the City received from the T-Mobile and <br />Sprint leases. Finance Director Beer commented the City received $30,000 from T-Mobile and <br />$27,000 from Sprint each year. <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Bergeron. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9437, <br />Approving Lease Amendments to the Water Tower Site Lease Agreements for T-Mobile and <br />Sprint. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />D. Resolution 9438, Approving a Contract with Rainbow Treecare for the (EAB) <br />Emerald Ash Borer Injection Program. <br /> <br />Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council approve a contract <br />with Rainbow Treecare for the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) injection program. He discussed how <br />EAB migrated into the community over the past five years and noted the Department of <br />Agriculture has required the City to create an EAB program. He reported this topic was reviewed <br />by the Park, Recreation and Forestry Commission and proposed going out to bid for EAB tree <br />injections. Staff commented further on the proposed program and recommended approval of the <br />EAB contract with Rainbow Treecare. <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause asked if there was an issue of having a City contracting with a <br />service provider and allowing them to use the City logo. City Attorney Riggs explained this was <br />a fairly routine practice and shows there was an approved process in place for this type of work. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller asked if the City had an opportunity to provide input to the design, printing and <br />the mailing of the co-branded flyers. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson <br />reported the City would review these flyers each year before being sent out to residents in Mounds <br />View. <br /> <br />Mayor Mueller commented she was uncomfortable with having the City logo on this flyer, <br />especially given the experience the City had with the service line warranty letters that were sent <br />out. She questioned if the logo was used on this mailing, if other all City consultants could use the <br />City logo for their mailings. Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated this was
