right over the lake. And I understand you can do it, but when I bought the house I like it the way it is, I
like the road the way it is, I don't need curb and gutter, everything has been working fine. So that's my
opinion, so am I right, will you be taking about half my yard up?
Don P — Will have to take a look at it, but I know the proposed trail around Spring Lake, next to where,
you are talking will be right behind curb, there will not be that buffer in that location.
Don H — But still, its 8 fee, it's still going into the yard quite a bit. (Don P — on the lakeside) No, on the
other side — you will have to move it over (Don P — no, everything we are proposing is staying in the
ROW where we have the right to work). But right where the road is, towards the lake, it goes right
down to the lake. There's only 2 feet there. I would love it if a path would work, but if it means taking
out half my yard then I am not for it. And somehow that has to be considered.
Don P — We will take certainly take a look. I am just going to address the trees we have counted there.
Those trees being removed — I know that, staff (PW) has never viewed all the plans and met with Stantec
on what is being proposed. These are preliminary plans, 60%, we are nowhere near final plans. There
are a number of meetings and a lot of direction we have to get, not only hearing from you but from City
Council. 11:58
12:01— Vincent Meyer — 8380 Spring Lake Road Myer Construction. In 1999 the city tried to ram it
down our throats with the gutters and stuff and we as homeowners turned it down, you guys never
even had a proposal for resurfacing, you rammed it down our throat, we shut it down and I hope we
shut it down now. Where did the power pole goes, can you go back to that, on that picture, back it up,
where the power pole go, that pictures looks like it has been photo -shopped, I don't see any of our
power poles.
DP — Not photo -shopped, one of our current roads.
VM - Where is the power poles?
DP —There are no power poles on this street
VM - There is too, that's my yard right there sir, I know my yard. Also you brought up here where the
curb is going to support the road. Look on 85th right now; where they are tearing out all the curb right
now because it did not support the road. Thank you. 13:20
13:25 — Dan Dreier 7830 Spring Lake Road —There is very limited space on that side of the road if you
want to put in a 6 to 8 foot wide trail. There is enough space there but eventually you will get to my
property and its going to create additional issues for me — City council I brought this up, I have a
driveway that goes underneath my house and when you go further out there already at the issue where
I have to back up far trying to make sure I don't hit any kids or anyone zipping in the curb bike trail that
may be there, now if you move it 6 to 8 feet closer, I am not sure how I am going to avoid hitting people
because they are going to be driving too quickly, they're going to have hit the side of my car as I go out
and I will be neither of our fault and it will be in the public ROW. I am backing up, can't be my fault, they
are the ones that have to be looking. It creates a real problem, it's a safety issue. On top of it, I am the
only house on the road that has a gravel parking area in front of my house, I am not the one that
installed it but the part I have come appreciate is that when you have older people, especially in winter
time, and your driveway angles downward, they tend to take a topple. So parents come over, they're
3
