With the SBM Fire Department, the first Police vs Fire Softball Game was organized. The <br />Police Department came out victorious this year. <br />• Working with the MKG Martial Arts and other businesses of Silver View Plaza, the PD <br />had the first Halloween Safety Night. The Fire Department, and SWAT team attended <br />the event as well. Families came in costumes to learn important Halloween Safety <br />Advise, play games and get prizes, and meet the first responders. <br />• The Mounds View Police Department hosted this year's Coat Drive through the <br />Salvation after being last year's highest coat drive recipients. Mounds View PD won the <br />coat drive challenge again this year totaling 708 coats donated for the Salvation Army. <br />• The Mounds View PD, Police Foundation, and SBM Fire Department participated in <br />Heroes and Helpers this year by finding families struggling with the times and providing <br />them with Holiday gifts. Many of the gifts were donated by thoughtful and giving <br />members of the community including the Lion's Club, the Police Foundation, Abiding <br />Savior Church, Pinewood Elementary, Edgewood Middle School, bikes4kids, and MN <br />Recyclery. <br />The NRO also attended and helped with events including the football Combine at Irondale High <br />School, The Bethlehem Church Summer picnic, the Doggy Day Parade in Lake Court Drive, <br />Abiding Savior Church family night, Apartment Safety night together with the SBM Fire <br />Department, the Community Resource Fair, the Town Hall Meeting, Fire Department Open <br />House, Veteran's Day ceremony at Bel Rae Senior Living, and attended the Schools to teach <br />students about Bike Safety and Internet Safety. <br />Current and relevant information continues to be posted on Nextdoor/com and Twitter. <br />
