With the SBM Fire Department, the first Police vs Fire Softball Game was organized. The Police Department came out victorious this year. • Working with the MKG Martial Arts and other businesses of Silver View Plaza, the PD had the first Halloween Safety Night. The Fire Department, and SWAT team attended the event as well. Families came in costumes to learn important Halloween Safety Advise, play games and get prizes, and meet the first responders. • The Mounds View Police Department hosted this year's Coat Drive through the Salvation after being last year's highest coat drive recipients. Mounds View PD won the coat drive challenge again this year totaling 708 coats donated for the Salvation Army. • The Mounds View PD, Police Foundation, and SBM Fire Department participated in Heroes and Helpers this year by finding families struggling with the times and providing them with Holiday gifts. Many of the gifts were donated by thoughtful and giving members of the community including the Lion's Club, the Police Foundation, Abiding Savior Church, Pinewood Elementary, Edgewood Middle School, bikes4kids, and MN Recyclery. The NRO also attended and helped with events including the football Combine at Irondale High School, The Bethlehem Church Summer picnic, the Doggy Day Parade in Lake Court Drive, Abiding Savior Church family night, Apartment Safety night together with the SBM Fire Department, the Community Resource Fair, the Town Hall Meeting, Fire Department Open House, Veteran's Day ceremony at Bel Rae Senior Living, and attended the Schools to teach students about Bike Safety and Internet Safety.
