Public Works Staff Report <br />• Random Park <br />Replace Interior Furniture: Replace tables and chairs with new. 2014 Budget: $3,000 (PDF) —which is funded <br />entirely by BBC contributions (Nov. 2013). Staff purchased chairs and is looking at cost of new tables as well <br />as painting the interior of the building. Staff would like Park & Recreation & Forestry Commission to consider <br />a remodel of the interior of Random Park Building to be discussed at the November meeting. <br />City Hall Campus <br />• Irrigation & Landscaping Improvements: The front of City Hall is planned to have new landscaping features <br />installed and irrigation system expanded to cover dead spots and the portion of the park between City Hall <br />and County Highway 10 (volley ball area). 2014 Budget: $25,000 (Spec. Projects Fund). Met with landscape <br />architects in July to develop scope of work. No further action at this time. <br />Groveland Park <br />• Tennis/Basketball Court Rehabilitation (Design): Involves evaluation, design, and bidding documents for <br />option selected, to be constructed in 2015. 2014 Budget: $15,000 (PDF). Evaluating scope of work and <br />developing better cost estimates. Continued discussion tonight items 7A. <br />Trails/Sidewalk <br />• Groveland Road (County Road 10 to County Road J) The City Council approved street project and road design <br />for Groveland Road; this will include an 8' parking area on the West Side of the Street, a 5'5" dedicated bike <br />lane on the East Side with a 6' sidewalk on the Eastside of the street just behind the curb. <br />• City Council approved awarding contact to Bolton and Menk for design and construction of Trail segments <br />#6 and #11. Tail design to be completed in 2015 with construction occurring in 2016. Staff had kick off <br />meeting with engineering firm July 16, 2015. Bolton and Menk continues to work on design of new trails, <br />work to be done in 2016. <br />Community Center <br />• ESP program: Financing has been approved and paper work in the process of being reviewed and signed, <br />the entire project will be completed by the end of August 2015. Staff is continuing to receive quotes for the <br />remodel project for the Community Center Offices and Prep -Kitchen. ESP project to start early August and <br />through October. Upgrades to LED fixtures has started, RTUs have been installed, controls and BAS (building <br />automation system) is being upgraded. Solar Panels installation to start the beginning of November. The <br />remodel of the offices and new prep -kitchen well under way, should be completed by the first week in <br />November. <br />Greenfield Park <br />. RCWD ARJD#1 Project: Rice Creek Watershed District is planning the re -profiling and repair of Anoka - <br />Ramsey Judicial Ditch No. 1 which runs through Greenfield Park. Also included is Branch No. 5 which is <br />located behind the baseball outfield and crosses below the parking lot entrance. Staff will be meeting with <br />RCWSD to inquire the status of this work. Staff did meet and inquired about the project, no further <br />information at this time. <br />. <br />MCES Sewer Interceptor Project: Metropolitan Council Environmental Services is planningto improve a large <br />diameter sewer pipe at the northwest corner of Quincy and Hillview. MCES is finalizing construction plans <br />and have been reviewed by engineering division, comments returned to MCES. MCES still planning on a 2015 <br />project. Some trees have been tagged in order to be transplanted in other City Parks. Project still scheduled <br />to start later this spring. Project to start later this year. <br />2/2 <br />
