Mounds View City Council November 14, 2022 <br />Regular Meeting Page 9 <br />1 MOTION/SECOND: Mueller/Meehlhause. To Waive the Reading and Adopt Resolution 9649, <br />2 Renaming Random Park to Hodges Park. <br />3 <br />4 Council Member Meehlhause reported Don and Amy Hodges would have been 95 and 94 this <br />5 year, but passed away earlier this year. He thanked Don and Amy Hodges for their tremendous <br />6 service to the community. He stated this was a great honor the City can do for these very well <br />7 deserving individuals. <br />8 <br />9 Mayor Mueller commented on the numerous ways she interacted with Don and Amy Hodges over <br />10 the years. She was honored and proud to say her great nephew who graduated from Totino Grace <br />1 1 who received a certificate from Don Hodges for his Boy Scout achievements. She was thrilled that <br />12 the City could honor Don and Amy Hodges in this manner. <br />13 <br />14 Ayes — 3 Nays — 1 (Cermak) Motion carried. <br />15 <br />l6 L. Resolution 9650, Authorization for New Playground Equipment and <br />17 Installation for Greenfield Park. <br />18 <br />19 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson requested the Council authorize the <br />20 purchase of new playground equipment and its installation at Greenfield Park. He reported the <br />21 equipment at this park was 20 years old and the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission <br />22 recommended the equipment be replaced. He commented further on the cost for the project and <br />23 recommended the project move forward. <br />24 <br />25 Mayor Mueller asked what would happen with the old playground equipment. Public Works/Parks <br />26 and Recreation Director Peterson reported the equipment would be scrapped. He commented <br />27 further on how it would be difficult to repurpose this equipment. <br />28 <br />29 MOTION/SECOND: Hull/Meehlhause. REPORTS <br />35 A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br />36 <br />37 Council Member Meehlhause reported he would be attending a Twin Cities Gateway board <br />38 meeting on Tuesday, November 15 where the 2023 budget would be discussed. He reviewed the <br />39 projected revenues from 2022 in further detail with the Council. <br />40 <br />41 Mayor Mueller explained she would be attending the Ramsey County Dispatch Policy Committee <br />42 meeting on Tuesday, November 15 where the budget, equipment and upcoming trends would be <br />43 discussed. <br />44 <br />45 Mayor Mueller stated the Festival in the Park Committee would be meeting on Tuesday, November <br />46 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Public Works Facility. <br />
