MEMO TO: Mr. Donald F. Pauley, Clerk-Administrator
i
FROM: Bruce K. Anderson;Direto
Parks , Recreation and F6 esti De artment
DATE: January 14, 1982
RE: Change Order
Attached is a proposed change order #104 totaling $445.00 for installing
the water service tap for the underground irrigation system at Silver View
Park. The change order is necessitated by the existing City policy that
all water main taps should be off the water main rather than the hydrant.
There are three main reasons for this policy:
1. By coming off from the water main all parties are treated 11111 equally from a price stand point.
2. The hydrant has very little water flow as compared to the
water main which makes for poor water quality.
3. There is more water pressure from the 12" main rather than
the 6" hydrant.
Although tapping off the hydrant would work as proposed, staff would concur
with the recommendation to come off the 12" main which would require the
additional $445.00.
This work is scheduled to begin in early spring , 1982 and it would make
the total irrigation bid price $4,935.00. As you 're aware , this project
is presently $7,548.85 under budget.
Should you have any questions , feel free to give me a call at extension #41 .
111/1
